El presente texto tiene como propósito exponer los resultados de una revisión crítica realizada sobre el conjunto de relaciones posibles entre la educación y el uso de nuevas tecnologías y cuáles son los retos y perspectivas en este ámbito. En los tiempos recientes, impactados por la presencia de la COVID-19 y la declaración de pandemia por parte de la Organización Mundial de la Salud, la Organización Panamericana de Salud y los Estados correspondientes, el profesorado universitario, entre los grandes desafíos, aprender a convivir con las nuevas tecnologías de información y comunicación, situación que lo llevará a convertirse en innovador, reinventando el conjunto de acciones didáctico-pedagógicas que, hasta ahora, han sido usuales en su carrera. Sin duda, las nuevas tecnologías constituyen un aliado fundamental a la hora de desarrollar la praxis educativa y, además, constituye un elemento crucial para mejoran los procesos educativos en general. En síntesis: las innovaciones tecnológicas son fundamentales para mejorar la enseñanza aprendizaje, por ello, las instituciones educativas y las universidades, de manera particular, no pueden prescindir de ellas; por ello es necesario promover, tanto en las instituciones como en el profesorado, la utilización de las nuevas tecnologías de información y comunicación.

The purpose of this text is to present the results of a critical review carried out on the set of possible relationships between education and the use of new technologies and what are the challenges and perspectives in this area. In recent times, impacted by the presence of COVID-19 and the declaration of a pandemic by the World Health Organization, the Pan American Health Organization and the corresponding States, university faculty, among the great challenges, learn to live together with the new information and communication technologies, a situation that will lead him to become an innovator, reinventing the set of didactic-pedagogical actions, which until now have been usual in his career. Undoubtedly, new technologies constitute a fundamental ally when it comes to developing educational praxis and, furthermore, it constitutes a crucial element for improving educational processes in general. In short: technological innovations are fundamental to improve teaching-learning, therefore, educational institutions and universities in particular cannot do without them; For this reason, it is necessary to promote both in the institutions and in the teaching staff, the use of new information and communication technologies.
