El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como propósito analizar el turismo comunitario como alternativa de desarrollo Turístico en la comunidad indígena wayuu del Distrito Especial, Turístico y Cultural de Riohacha. La investigación realizada durante el periodo 2017-2021, busco analizar factores y características del turismo comunitario, ejes y estrategias del desarrollo sostenible aplicados en las actividades turísticas realizadas por las comunidades indígenas wayuu del distrito. Este trabajo se sustentó con base en las teorías de los diferentes autores del turismo comunitario y el desarrollo sostenible. La metodología de la investigación se sustenta en teorías de enfoque cuantitativo, por medio de método científico, el tipo de investigación descriptivo, con un diseño de investigación no experimental transaccional y de campo. Se realizó prueba piloto en una población de 10 comunidades wayuu en el Distrito Especial Turístico y Cultural de Riohacha, donde dichas comunidades tienen similitud con la población objeto de estudio. Para la recolección de la información se empleó la técnica de la encuesta y como instrumento se desarrolló un cuestionario de escala de Likert compuesto de 39 ítems, donde 24 corresponden a la variable de turismo comunitario y 15 a desarrollo sostenible, con una previa validación por los expertos. La interpretación de los datos se efectuó con la estadística descriptiva por frecuencia absoluta y relativa, estado representada por tablas

The purpose of this research work is to analyze community tourism as an alternative for tourism development in the Wayuu indigenous community of the Special, Tourist and Cultural District of Riohacha. The research carried out during the 2017-2021 period, sought to analyze factors and characteristics of community tourism, axes and strategies of sustainable development applied in tourism activities carried out by the Wayuu indigenous community of the district. This work was based on the theories of the different authors of community tourism and sustainable development. The research methodology is based on quantitative approach theories, through a scientific method, the type of descriptive research, with a design of transactional and field non-experimental research. A pilot test was conducted in a Population of 10 Wayuu communities in the Special Tourism and Cultural District of Riohacha, where these communities have similarities with the population under study. The survey technique was used to collect the information and as a tool a Likert scale questionnaire was developed, consisting of 39 items, where 24 correspond to the community tourism variable and 15 to sustainable development, with a previous validation by the experts. The interpretation of the data was made with the descriptive statistics by absolute and relative frequency, state represented by tables.
