dc.description.abstractEste libro es el resultado de un estudio del sistema de mangle de la Primera Boquita, situado en el corregimiento La Punta de Los Remedios en el municipio de Dibulla del departamento de La Guajira. Gracias a este se detectó que el sistema de mangle sufría una gran presión debido a la deforestación causada por la población, que lo utilizaba como fuente de energía para la cocina. El grupo Alfa Ciencia de la Institución Educativa Rural Miguel Pinedo Barros, con el apoyo del Programa Ondas de Colciencias y la coordinación del docente Oscar Eduardo Espinosa Pérez, estudió la estructura e importancia ecológica y socio-económica del sistema Natural de La primera Boquita para determinar el nivel de presión que ejerce la población sobre los parches de mangle situados en el litoral costero del municipio de Dibulla, en concreto sobre el Rizophora mangle o mangle rojo. Una segunda propuesta buscó que la población del corregimiento tomase conciencia de la importancia de salvaguardar el ecosistema al presentarle una alternativa que les permitía preparar sus alimentos sin necesidad de atentar contra este sistema natural. Para ello se construyó, con el apoyo del alemán Mark Heintzel, un espejo parabólico que concentra la energía de los rayos solares, que generaba el calor suficiente para cocinar los alimentos; esto permitió evitar el uso del mangle como combustible, contribuyendo a su protección y emisión de sustancias considerablemente nocivas para el medio ambiente y la salud humana como el CO2, alquitranes y compuestos aromáticos. Una vez logrado este objetivo, se buscó que este aprendizaje se mantuviera en el tiempo; para ello se realizó un estudio que permitiera implementar la educación ambiental como un proyecto trasversal en el plan de estudio de la Institución Educativa Rural Miguel Pinedo Barros; este está enmarcado dentro del programa de investigación “Fortalecimiento de la formación docente en las áreas de las ciencias empírico analíticas, socio educativas y culturales para potenciar la productividad académica, científica y tecnológica en el departamento de La Guajira”, por lo que se necesitaba que la Institución Educativa Miguel Pinedo Barros y la Universidad de La Guajira unieran esfuerzos para acercarse a los moradores del corregimiento de La Punta.spa
